…that hollywood thinks we’re idiots. Either that or we relate with the ones we have writing screenplays lately. The 2 major “comedys” that have come out over the past couple weeks have plots from really terrible 80’s sit-coms. “Our Idiot Brother” is an example. “Oh my god, he’s a family member who isn’t like the rest of us, he’s crazy and whacky and smokes pot! The ones SURE to be hilarious!”. Been there, wasn’t funny the first time. It’s Darma & Greg with Darma played by Paul Rudd. “The Change Up” is another example. “A family man and a sexually active handsome douche switch bodies! That’s crazy! Look, he doesn’t know how to change a diaper, and he can’t pick up woman at the bar! So funny!” Dude, that’s Freaky Friday… I’m expecting that the next movie to come out will be Will Ferral adopting a black kid, and they get in all kinds of CRAZY PERDICAMENTS! Fuck that… Popular film media has lost all means of being entertaining. Originality is dead, and so is Hollywood’s sense of humor.
